The Dean's Student Advisory Committee at the University of Illinois works as the liaison between the students in the school's renowned College of Engineering and the deans of the College. It collects, analyzes and presents to the College much-needed student opinion in the form of surveys and Town Hall Meetings, and ultimately aims to facilitate communication between students and the College regarding issues that concern the student body. DSAC required a website that could host weekly online surveys for students to enter their feedback, in addition to providing information about the organization and its hosted events.
During the fall of 2006, I built a well-organized site centered on the idea of obtaining student information, designing a survey system in which members of the committee could create new surveys with short answer, long answer, and multiple choice questions through an intelligent, easy-to-use interface. The survey results could then be accessed with students' responses sorted per question in order to ease compiling of the information. The site also featured a list of personnel and details about several other events hosted by the organization.
